MySpace推出中文版IM工具，让社区会员之间能进行更多的交流。作为最成功的社区之一，MySpace拥有足够多的用户来支撑自己的IM系统，并且可以通过IM来继续发展自己的社区服务。类似MySpaceIM这样的即时通讯工具和QQ或者MSN不同，目前这样的工具只是作为网站的辅助，登录服务目的明确。
How do I start using MySpaceIM?
1. If you haven’t installed the application yet, first download the installer (look for the big Download button). IE users can select "Run" to immediately start installing, while others should save the installer to disk and then double-click it to start installation. In either case, follow the directions to install the MySpace IM application.
2. Double-click the MySpaceIM icon on your desktop, or select Start -> Programs -> MySpace -> MySpaceIM.
3. In the login panel that pops up, enter your MySpace email and password.
4. If you do not have a MySpace Username yet, you will be prompted to create one – just follow the instructions.
That’s it, you should be signed in. To start chatting, add your friends. Note: You must have Administrator privileges on your PC to install MySpaceIM.
目前使用MySpace的账户登录IM工具，登录以后，可以将所有的信息结合起来，其中包括交友信息或者其他的在线信息资料。不过作为通讯工具来说，并不完善，其中比较多功能仍然涉及到网站本身的服务，至少IM自身独立性不够。安装软件后可以添加自己的好友列表以及其他的一些信息，用户可以通过使用具体了解这个软件的功能。
